The Athlete of the Month for September 2017 is:
When my family and I were working at a camp and conference center several years ago, the head life guard was from Hixson and introduced my brother and me to Crossfit exercises. He was doing Crossfit workouts to prepare for the Navy in hopes of getting into the Seals program. As a kid who always got picked last in PE… Crossfit helped me understand how to get fit. I live in Dayton, and when I accepted a job in Chattanooga, I passed the Crossfit Hixson gym every day and decided to join.
My favorite workouts include anything with box jumps, air squats, overhead squats, handstands, kettlebell swings, and situps.
I would love to be able to do rope climbs, pistols, double unders, handstand pushups, pull-ups, and a handstand walk!
Crossfit has impacted my life because working out is no longer something I have to make myself do. It is part of my daily routine, and I honestly look forward to this part of my day! I love the people I have met at Crossfit Hixson. Working out with the people here is so much fun!
